About Me
“In order to achieve anything, you must be brave enough to fail.” – Kirk Douglas
I was born and raised in a Kibbutz in Israel and moved to Colorado 6 years ago with my husband and three boys. As a child in school, I dealt with Learning Disabilities - Dyslexia and ADHD. It was in my mid 20's when I was diagnosed, so I had to survive the school system. Dance was my safe space. It felt like home to me; I had an opportunity to bring my creativity and visual visions to life. As an adult, I love to dance and play. My favorite dance style is Dance Theater. I love to hike and be out in nature with Luna, my German Shorthair Pointer.
I am a registered psychotherapist with a B.Ed. in Education and Teaching and M.A. in Dance Movement Therapy. I was both a dance teacher/choreographer and a Special Ed teacher for many years. Eventually, I combined my two passions into "Dance Movement Therapy," which means embedded and somatic work in the therapy room. You don’t need to be a dancer, but we will connect and create awareness of your body and emotions. I have extensive experience supporting kids and young adults with life crises, including anxiety, depression, bipolar, ADHD/ADD, social skills-related issues, and more.
My Approach
The methods that I employ in supporting my clients are informed by almost 20 years of experience as an educator, advisor, and Special Ed teacher. While I specialize in working with children, teenagers, and young adults suffering with anxiety, learning disabilities, ADHD, and mild depression, I also enjoy providing individualized support to parents.
With kids and family support I use Play Therapy and Movement Therapy.
With teenagers and yang adults I use Somatic Therapy and Talking Therapy.
My approach involved a lot of self reflection and some work at home between sessions.
I am a staunch advocate of embedded therapy, not only as a means of talking about the things that bother us, but as a mechanism for identifying our emotions through our body. By leveraging the body as a tool to search for feelings, emotions, and blocked energy, we can then successfully reconnect with our inner selves.
I am strongly believe that the first thing to do is to recognize my client's strengths, so that we can work with the strength and talent that you have as a tool toward the challenges you are straggle with.
I work with mindfulness and believe that our body is part of our soul and the connections between our body and mind (soul) are critical to the healing process.
I would love to discuss my approach with you on a 20 minute free consultation call. Schedule now - take one step toward a better life.
