Take the next step to a better life.
You don't have to do it alone, lets walk together.
ADHD/ADD
Are you feeling overwhelmed with your life? Do you think you are constantly occupied with a rush of thoughts and can't figure out which to deal with first? Do you feel that you could have done so much more at the end of the day, and yet you have not? Do you postpone chores that needed to be done weeks ago? Do you feel that life should have been more simple?
Well, I can tell you that I have Learning Disabilities – Dyslexia and ADHD. I wasn’t diagnosed until my mid-20s, so I had to develop ways to survive the “regular” school system. I know how frustrating it is to deal with thoughts and beliefs like: “I can do better, and yet I keep messing up…I am Lazy, stupid, slow, not good enough…
I’m also familiar with the rage that it can trigger.

I have never given up and found many ways to work with my disabilities and make them into abilities! Therefore, I can share many strategies with you, and we can work together with the strengths your ADHD/ADD give you (and there are many strengths!). Together we can work to improve how you deal with the challenges you are experiencing in your life.

There is so much we can improve. It’s time to make the change. Schedule a 20 minutes free consultation, and together we will figure out the next step.

Play Therapy
Do you remember playing when you were a kid? Games play an important place in our development. As kids, we learned much from playing with others about ourselves, relationships, and emotions. Play includes imagination games, card games, board games, role games, and more. As we play, we allow different emotions to come out, like anger, jealousy, joyfulness, happiness, curiosity, and more. Through the game, we can build relationships, feel and understand better empathy, work on feelings that we think and believe are negative, and communicate. As adults, we sometimes forget the joy of playing and being in the game, which is a natural state of mind for most kids.
As a play therapist, I believe that people at every stage and age should use playfulness to discover deeper feelings and beliefs that we carry with us, sometimes holding us back.
With children's play therapy, play is a big part of the session as sometimes children have a more challenging time discussing their feelings, but let them come out during the game. Part of the work as a play therapist with kids is also at the right time to invite the parent/parents to join the game and be part of this relationship so that games can come into your house as a therapeutic part of your family.

Parents Counseling
Have you felt like you need an instruction book as a parent? Have you ever been feeling very lonely in your parenthood path? Are you finding yourself feeling like this is not the parent I thought I was going to be?
Parenthood can be a fantastic experience but can also bring many challenges. It connects us to the child we were, the parents we had, the parents we are, and the child we have.
As a mother to three boys, I have been traveling with my boys from Israel to the United States back and forth. I had to support my kids during this challenging time; it wasn’t always easy and successful.
I know how challenging it is to be a parent, but I also know how wonderful and unique this experience can be.
Suppose you feel challenged, lonely, frustrated, Angry, and sad if you feel like you are not the parent you wanted to be.
You don’t need to walk this path alone. I’ll be happy to do this with you, walk together and figure out the best ways for you to be the parent you want to be.

Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy aims to treat mental and emotional health issues by connecting mind and body. This body-centric approach works by helping to release stress, tension, and trauma from the body. The most common and straightforward form of somatic therapy is known as such or as somatic experiencing therapy. Patients discuss their problems in this therapy as in other mental wellness therapies. Rather than talk about them, somatic therapists guide patients to focus on their underlying physical sensations. From there, the mind-body exercises may include breath work, meditation, visualization, grounding, dance, and sensation awareness work.

As Dance Movement therapist I find that working with the body and Practicing mindfulness helps connect us with hard feelings toward control and safety.

Anxiety/Depression
Anxiety often will come together with depression, but not necessarily. If you or your child feel that you/they lost interest in activities you used to do, if you or your child feel Restless, frustrated, angry, and having a hard time addressing the reason for these feelings. Suppose you or your child have difficulty sleeping and concentrating, remembering details, or making decisions. There is a big chance you or your child are experiencing anxiety or depression.
Both anxiety and depression can form in your body as pain that doesn't have a medical explanation, such as headache, tummy ache, and sometimes even Pain in the hands and legs.
When working with anxiety and depression, the first thing is to understand the reason and rationality of those feelings, figure out the triggers that bring it, and then work with them.
As a Dance Movement therapist, I find that working with the body and Practicing mindfulness helps connect us with hard feelings toward control and safety.

Teenage Therapy Services
I specialize in offering personalized and impactful therapy and coaching for teenagers. Understanding the unique challenges of adolescence, I dedicate myself to guiding young individuals through this pivotal stage of their lives.

I am committed to adolescents' well-being. My journey in supporting teenagers began in 1995, starting as a boarding school advisor and evolving into a role encompassing diverse experiences, including counseling and teaching. My experiences as a teenager seeking support have profoundly influenced my approach, making me passionate about being the understanding figure I once needed.

My dedication to working with teenagers is both professional and deeply personal. Having faced my challenges during adolescence, I understand the profound impact of having empathetic, supportive guidance. Beyond my professional experience, I am also a mother of three teenagers. Navigating the joys and challenges of parenting adolescents, I genuinely enjoy the journey despite its complexities. This personal insight reinforces my belief that the bumps along the way can make us stronger – both as parents and as teenagers – especially when we receive the right support at the right time. This understanding drives my mission to be a source of support for teenagers and their families navigating similar paths.

Services Offered
At Hirundo Therapy, I offer two primary services designed to meet the diverse needs of teenagers:
-
Individual Therapy: This service provides a safe, nurturing environment for teenagers to express themselves and explore their feelings freely. Tailored to each individual, these sessions aim to help them understand and work through personal challenges, emotional difficulties, and developmental concerns.
-
Teenage Coaching: Unlike traditional therapy, teenage coaching is more goal-oriented, focusing on developing specific skills such as time management, effective handling of schoolwork, strategies for coping with ADD/ADHD, and establishing a productive daily routine. This service is ideal for teenagers seeking to achieve specific objectives and improve their daily life skills.
My Approach
I prioritize empathy, respect, and a comprehensive understanding of teenage psychology in my practice. By combining various therapeutic and coaching techniques, I ensure that each teenager receives care that is not only personalized but also highly effective in addressing their unique needs and goals.
